Service Alert – Highway 1 Closure
Effective March 17, 2026
Due to a full closure of Highway 1 for avalanche control, transit times are impacted:
- Vancouver (VCR) ↔ Calgary (CGY) freight is being routed via Edmonton (EDM) (898 miles).
- Calgary (CGY) ↔ Kelowna (KEL) is rerouted via Highway 3 (588 miles).
- Revelstoke (REV) service from Calgary (CGY) may be suspended for the duration of the closure.
Avalanche control is currently planned to end within 48 hours.
